'weak blood'
is an international web.art project
reacting to, reflecting the Kosovo crisis
during the Balkan war April - June 1999.
The project started April 27.
The first page, 'weak blood', was my reaction to an
email I received from
Clemente Padin, an artist and poet from Uruguay.
The email contained
a critical forwarded email from a Serbian writer
from Beograde.
His words moved me very much, more than the news in
the media.
After posting the page and spreading the news, I
received responses
from three artists within hours containing URLs to
works by Valéry
Grancher and Esben Fest. Therefore I set up the
'weak blood' site -
the project was born. In a short mail exchange with
Valéry, we figured
out the theme of the project:
dedicated to all victims - a general statement
against war and violence - for a human site..
In the following days the annoucement spread on
different lists
and ZINEn by Valéry and myself, also by
other artists and friends
(thanks to all).
The project grew quickly - now it consists of 125
works by 76 artists,
poets, and writers from North, Central, and South
America, Europe (from north
to south, west to east), and Australia.
It has become not only a multi-cultural work but
also a multi-generation
project with contributions by authors from very
different ages.
During the 11 weeks, the work was accompanied by
intense email
contacts (I have received and have written hundreds
of emails), exchanging
concrete or general ideas, opinions. (You can find
also some collaborative
pieces on the list of 'weak blood' as viewable
results.)
How to look at 'weak blood'
The common view is to look at the project as a
collection of works,
to see these pieces as creative reactions to the
political situation
(and therefore as a kind of artistic reflection and
documentation).
Because the information has been received over the
media,
the media's reflection is part of the contents of
some pages.
Listed chronologically along the red line you can
also follow
the flow of thoughts - the single piece only seen
as part of the whole
(you might recognize that some pages react to
others ...).
This matches more the idea of a creative
communication (to realize
e.g. collective art works/projects).
In this vein I myself created 16 pieces, 10 collabs
and set up more
than 13 pages for some painters or writers.
From this point of view each contribution is as
important as another.
Therefore my special thanks go to all participants
in the project.

with the hope that the way to peace will be
continued

" Weak Blood "
opinions. (certains extraits sont en ligne sur la
list de " Weak Blood ")
Comment regarder " Weak Blood " ?
politique.
Tous ces travaux représentent un magnifique
outil d'étude et de
documentation artistiques.
(certaines réactions des médias sont
aussi intégrées dans le montage des
pages)
Au fur et à mesure j'ai donc
intégré dans un ordre chronologique
les pages des
artistes, en suivant le fil rouge on voit
défiler un flux de pensées, ce qui
donne
s'exprimer face
à un phénomène inhumain.
J'ai ainsi créé seize pages,
collaboré à dix et mis en ligne
treize travaux
envoyés par des peintres ou
écrivains.
Chaque intervention a son importance,
possède sa place en propre.
Et je remercie profondément chacun des
participants.
" Alone, we are sitting in a dark cave "

qualsiasi notizia ricevuta dai media.
Dopo aver msso in retela prima pagina e diffuso la
notizia, ho ricevuto risposta
Esben Fest.
LISTS e Zine in rete. Il progetto,
cresciuto velocemente, oggi consiste in 125 lavori
dall'Australia.
Con il contributo di autori di differenti
ètà "week blood" è diventato
un progetto
multigenerazionale oltreche multiculturale.
pubblicati in rete.
Come guardare "weak blood"
in ogni singola opera vista come parte dell'insieme
progetto d'arte.
In questa logica io stesso ho creato 16 opere, 10
collaborazioni è costruito
più di 13 pagine per altri pittori e
scrittori.
partecipanti.

nella speranza che la strada della pace
continui
